Cornhole is growing in Europe! Not only are there more and more professional players, but more and more high-quality products are also being made. This month we tested three sets of professional pouches from European manufacturers.
Kalle Akesson: Harno Bags
These bags are made by Kalle Akesson from Sweden. You can find it here . The Harno Bags, in brown, arrived on our doorstep within a few weeks. What was immediately noticeable is that the bags feel wonderfully soft. Fabric is not too hard and the filling is the same. This makes the bag comfortable to hold and gives you a good grip on the bag itself.
Like most bags these days, this one has two different sides. A fast and slightly stiffer side. The difference between the two sides is not huge, but there is a difference. We would give the fast side a speed rating of 6, the stiff side a rating of 4.
Players who want to keep full control over their throw and are less concerned with pure speed will be very happy with these bags.
Cost: About €60 for 4 bags.
Lion Board: Matrix Bags
The second set of bags are the Matrix Bags from Lion Board . What is immediately noticeable is the quality of the print. Both sides look super sleek. In terms of design, these bags immediately stand out. You can enter a tournament with this!
What is striking is that the bags are a bit flatter than the other two tested sets.
This makes the bags feel a little harder in the hand, which is also due to the fabric, which is slightly harder than the bags from Sweden. The advantage of this is that you can generate a lot of speed with a "flat bag". Players who use the sliding of the board to score points can use these bags well.

These bags also have two different sides. The manufacturer itself gives a speed rating of 6/4. We would categorize the smooth side more towards a 7, as they are a bit faster than the bags from Sweden.
Cost: About €58 for 4 bags.

Slicky Baggers - Series 4 - Double Face
The third set of bags we tested comes from Switzerland. Slicky Baggers is a new producer that is working hard. Almost every week the gentlemen come out with a new series of professional bags. We tested the Series 4 (Double Face).
Compared to the other bags, this one is clearly the most filled. This makes the bags feel full. However, they are not heavier than the other bags. Players who like a full feeling in their bags, and therefore do not want to have the feeling that they can "squeeze" the bags, will be very happy with this.
The manufacturer's speed rating is 2/8. We can get in there. The smooth side is extremely fast, while the rough side stops almost immediately. This has its tactical advantages. Keep in mind that there is nothing in between. Either your bag goes very fast, or immediately comes to a standstill.
Cost: About €80 for 4 bags.
