Cornhole rules & variants

In any sport, the rules are of course the most important. This is also the case with Cornhole. Just like with other sports, you can apply different rules.

What is certain is that each player has 4 corn bags or nowadays granule-filled bags. A plate to throw the bags on. 3 points for the hole and 1 for the board. The difference at the end of the turn is added to the total.

According to official rules, the first player to score 21 points or more wins. There are also other cornhole rules that you can use to make it more interesting. The backyard rules:

Exactly 21:

Very popular because it brings extra dynamics, a form that we also recommend for friends and the standard wicked wood rules. The goal is to reach exactly 21 points and if you go over 21, you go back to 15. This extra element makes the cornhole players even more fanatic.

Non-Cancellation

These rules are even simpler: All points scored by throwing the bags count. They are not subtracted from each other at the end of the turn. You can still play up to 21 points or whoever has the most points at the end wins.

This variant also works very well as an entry level for children. A winning score of 15 is also good advice.

Speed ​​hole:

In this variant of cornhole there are no turns, you do not have to throw the bags over and over, but the goal is to throw as quickly as possible, whoever gets to 21 first wins. If your teammate picks up bags and hits an opponent's bag, the opponent scores an extra point.

Long Toss:

In this variant of cornhole it is not about having the most points, but about who scores the furthest away. Start at the normal distance and throw a bag on the board. Anyone who misses is eliminated and everyone has 4 chances. After each round you move back one meter until there is 1 player left. The official world record is approximately 23 meters.
