Cornhole is simpelweg een spel waar je zakjes in een gat probeert te gooien. Echter komt er veel meer kijken bij Cornhole dan deze simpele beschrijving. Om die reden zullen we de belangrijke facetten van Cornhole bespreken zodat jij na het lezen van deze blog helemaal up-to-date bent op het gebied van Cornhole.
Waar komt Cornhole vandaan?
Allereest zullen we de oorsprong van Cornhole behandelen. Cornhole is afkomstig uit Amerika, waar het ook wel bean bag game of sack toss game wordt genoemd. Niemand weet precies hoe Cornhole is ontstaan, maar het is waarschijnlijk afkomstig van het spel Quoits en Bean-bag Bull’s-Eye. Bij deze oude oer-Amerikaanse spellen was ook het doel om ‘zakjes’ in een gat te werpen, maar zag het er iets anders uit dan het hedendaagse Cornhole zoals wij het nu kennen. In Chicago en omstreken werd/wordt Cornhole bags genoemd. Cornhole verspreidde zich eind jaren zeventig en begin jaren tachtig in Chicago, Illinois en de noordwestelijke regio van Indiana. Waarna het al snel populariteit won in geheel Amerika. Tegenwoordig wordt het door heel Amerika gespeeld en is er een landelijke competitie genaamd The American Cornhole League. De Cornhole rage is nu ook aan het verspreiden binnen Europa en om die reden is Wicked Wood Games begonnen met het aanbieden van Cornhole producten.
Doel van Cornhole
Uiteraard is het doel van Cornhole om samen plezier te maken, maar het is ook een erg competitief spel. Cornhole is een gazonspel waarin spelers om de beurt zakjes op een Cornhole board proberen te gooien. Eén zakje op het board betekent 1 punt en als je een zakje in de hole scoort verdien je 3 punten.
